Running – Day 2

A journey of a thousand miles starts with small steps…. and short distances.

Running – Day 2

Last night I went running for the second time with Fiona. We have decided to become run buddies, which is quite handy as she stays across the road from me, and also seems to have the determination to not let it be a passing fad!

We are both novices.

Last night we ran the same mile that we ran for the first time on Tuesday, but we included a VERY steep incline near the start. So technically it was more than a mile. We walked up the hill – I didnt expect anything else as its MASSIVE.

We were home quite quickly, we were both sweating and out of puff. Next week we are increasing to two miles per session.

Benefits of having a run buddy:

  • You feel less self conscious
  • Motivation to get out and do it
  • Motivation to push yourself a little further
  • The joy of company

As a great philoshoper once said, “Its so much friendlier with two..”
