Running – Day 2
Last night I went running for the second time with Fiona. We have decided to become run buddies, which is quite handy as she stays across the road from me, and also seems to have the determination to not let it be a passing fad!
We are both novices.
Last night we ran the same mile that we ran for the first time on Tuesday, but we included a VERY steep incline near the start. So technically it was more than a mile. We walked up the hill – I didn’t expect anything else – its MASSIVE.
We were home quite quickly, both sweating and out of puff. Next week we are increasing to two miles per session.
Benefits of having a run buddy:
- You feel less self-conscious
- Motivation to get out and do it
- Motivation to push yourself a little further
- The joy of company
- Someone else to share the pain

I go to the gym and have started doing the highly acclaimed ’30 Day Shred’ work out with my friend Kaia… and I value the encouragement and motivation provided to actually do it! What a great way to spend time with your friends; sweating it out, huffing and puffing!
The afterwards chill out time is wayyyyy more fun too.
